We had a sort of coastal conglomerate of music the other weekend over here at the Tumut River Brewery. We had The Swamp Stompers come down for Wollongong and The Bottlers made their way down from a little further up the coast, Sydney. We also had Korean BBQ guys in from Sydney serving up some delicious grilled meat from their BBQ’s to keep the dancing punters dancing! Oh, there was quite a bit of dancing!!
So back in October last year we told you about the plans we were laying out to move and expand our business into the Old Butter Factory building in Tumut. After trials and tribulations this move unfortunately fell through, and although we were disheartened at this set back we know that these things happen and we wouldn’t have gotten to where we are now without falling down and picking ourselves back up.
A one day event held at the Thredbo Alpine Hotel in the small town of Thredbo in the heart of the Snowy Mountains, the Kosciuszko Craft Beer Festival will be our first festival of 2017 and it is one that we are rather excited about. Why? Well this one is a little more of a festival for the beer brewer than the beer drinker.
So as Tim took the new van to the Taste of Coleambally Food and Farm Festival Simon took our full mobile bar with him to Sydney Craft Beer Week. Although we left on the same day Simon had pulled the long straw and didn’t have to be up on the darker side of dawn like we did, because he didn’t have to be set up until 1:30pm (he did still have to leave pretty early though).
On the penultimate weekend of October we attended the Coleambally Food and Farm Festival , known around these parts as Taste Coly. This small town festival features food, drink, art exhibits and workshops of many kinds and really is a celebration of everything local.
The weather in the Tumut area, and this part of NSW, has been pretty terrible recently. Here in Tumut we’ve had the banks of the river overflowing and the caravan parks have had to be evacuated due to the continuous torrents of rain.
Batlow Ciderfest 2015 You couldn't have asked for a better day or crowd! We're not going to lie, it was a big effort. We spent the majority of last week finishing and testing our second mobile bar. Printing labels and signs and finishing beer (just in time). It was all worth it. The weather was amazing!
Crowdfund our Bottling Plant It's no secret that we run on a tight budget and we are in desperate need of a bottling plant. We have decided to attempt to crowdfund some/all of it. So we need your help! We are pre-selling the bottles that this plant will produce and will be delivering them from December.
Hey Guys it's that time of year again, time for the Tumut Show and the Home Brew Competition. This year we're doing things a little different. Since we now have a micro brewery we thought it would be the perfect place to have the tasting and judging.
