We're hiring!

Tumut River Brewing Co started six years ago with two mates and one dream - to make great craft beer right here in stunning Tumut ! Registered as Australia's 105th microbrewery, we were at the time the smallest in the Southern Hemisphere with a tiny tasting bar and a brewhouse producing 150 litre batches. Fast forward a few years and we have converted an old tyre service into a Bar/Restaurant offering 24 taps and a pizzeria! We now operate a 1500 litre brewhouse and can produce 15,000 litres a month with a focus on strengthening our wholesale presence in the next 12 months.

As our profile as a tourist destination grows so does our team and we are now looking to add to it !

Here are our current vacancies:

Book-keeper Part-time

Minimum 8 hours a week -

The primary focus of this role is to ensure that invoices and bills are processed and accounts reconciled via our accounting software Xero.

Key Responsibilities:

Entering invoices and bills into Xero
Reconciling accounts and bank statements
Sending statements
Assisting with other administrative duties

Ideal profile

Strong background in accounting
Familiarity with Xero or similar
Familiarity with Kounta Point of Sale or similar
Understanding of cashflow projections and budgeting

Nice to have

Having a current Responsible Service of Alcohol Certificate would be great - we all help out behind the bar from time to time!

The admin scope of this role and therefore the hours available may grow depending on your skillset.

Hospitality All Star - Part-time

Primary focus of this role is to help in the kitchen with food prep and daily kitchen operations but this role will also assist at the bar.

Key Responsibilities:

Assisting the Head Cook in the operational activities in the Tumut River Brewing kitchen
Day to day running of the kitchen and working well with suppliers
Daily preparation of meals and required ingredient preparation
Stocktake of ingredients and assistance with ordering of stock
Adhering to food freshness and hygiene standards
Communicating with bar staff regarding menu / food delivery
Running food to front of house
Working at the bar - pouring drinks, serving customers, clearing tables, maintaining the presentation of the venue

Ideal profile

Experience in the hospitality industry; whether you've worked in a fast food outlet, pizzeria, restaurant or cafe, some exposure to food preparation and service is essential
Strong experience in customer service - we are a family business with a strong focus on ensuring the best experience for our visitors and are looking for like minded people
Interest in craft beer

Food Safety Supervisor Certificate

HOURS OF EMPLOYMENT

Tumut River Brewing Co trades every day of the year except for Christmas Day and the two Days of our staff Christmas party. We are therefore ideally looking for people who are available to be rostered on Monday - Sunday. Currently our trading hours are 10am - late seven days a week (Friday and Saturday nights being our busiest).
