Join us for an evening of Cheese, Wine, Beer and Jazz as we welcome the Antipodes Jazz Band (Melbourne) along with Barry Lillywhite (AKA The Big Cheese/Head Cheesemaker) from the Coolamon Cheese Factory, Tom Southwell from Johansen Wines and Adrian Brayne from Obsession Wines (both cold climate Tumbarumba Wine Region).
This is an informal evening with a formal twist - a sit down, three course meal with beer, cheese and wine and a live performance by the acclaimed Antipodes Jazz Band consisting of musicians from Australia, New Zealand and Europe. The menu will feature a matched beer, wine and cheese tasting, main course consisting of gourmet pizza showcasing local produce and of course Coolamon cheese as well as a dessert course. Barry, Tom and Adrian will also share the stories of their brands/produce and participate in a mini Q&A session about the cheese and wine making process.
Described during their recent tour of Australia as “a great blowing band with dense heads, occasional free and floating segments, room for solos and some great grooves” (Canberra Jazz) this is music drawn from diverse influences –
modern New York jazz meets Swedish indie pop and European free improvised music. Audiences are first drawn in by introspective, timbral improvisations and then set to foot-tapping with danceable beats, songlike melodies and fiery solos.
