Tumut is nestled is the rolling foothills of the Snowy Mountains so if you're lucky enough (depending on your attitude to the cold) to time your trip in winter, it's the perfect opportunity to take in some snow.

Whether you're a skier, boarder or just wanting to play in the powder, there's something to suit everyone just a short drive from Tumut. And we know just where you can get a beer at the end of the long day.

Selwyn Snow Resort

Known as the 'Learn to Ski Resort' Selwyn has slopes to suit beginner and intermediate skiiers and has some family friendly play areas. Located just over an hour from Tumut it is easily the most accessible resort and the best option for a quick day trip to get in some easy skiing.

Thredbo 

With over 50 runs and the longest ski run in mainland Australia, Thredbo offers quality skiing for all abilities.

A three hour drive from Tumut, Thredbo can be visited in a day or added on as a next stop in your journey. A great opportunity to check out Jindabyne and the alpine towns along the way, the journey to Thredbo will provide another opportunity tot ake in the sites of the region.

Perisher

The largest Ski Resort in Australia, Perisher consists of four resort areas: Perisher, Smiggens, Blue Cow and Guthega. Perisher operates 47 lifts across seven mountain peaks and a skiable area of 1,245 hectares. 

Off the slopes Perisher has a wide variety of activities in the alpine village including restaurants and bars to relax in after a day of skiing.
